Hunter Biden has turned a once-dormant X account into one of social media’s most unexpected attractions, drawing hundreds of thousands of followers with a mix of humor, personal reflections, and political jabs.
According to the New York Post, the son of former President Joe Biden returned to the platform last month after years of silence. Since then, he has posted nearly 500 times, quickly gaining attention from supporters and critics alike.
This week, Biden celebrated seven years of sobriety, a milestone that prompted one of his most viral exchanges.
After a user accused him of being responsible for the bag of cocaine found in the White House in 2023, Biden responded: “It most definitely was not. I would never have forgotten my drugs.”
The post received more than 242,000 likes.
A few days later, he generated another viral moment by joking about a photoshopped image showing him with a drug pipe.
“I know this may sound petty, but I can’t stand it when people… photoshop a meth pipe in my mouth,” Biden wrote. “A crack pipe doesn’t have that little bowl at the end. This is why we can’t trust AI.”
While many of his posts have been humorous, Biden has also spoken openly about his addiction struggles.
Biden has also used his platform to defend his parents and push back against critics. He recently targeted CNN anchor Jake Tapper for criticizing former first lady Jill Biden and criticized several members of the Trump family for their business ventures.
Even President Donald Trump weighed in on speculation that Biden could someday run for office.
“You would think that the past has something to do with winning an election,” Trump said. “And I would say his past is not the greatest.”
Biden quickly fired back online.
“Did he just say checkered past? I’m 28 felonies, 6 bankruptcies, and an Epstein bromance short of his checkered past.”
His recent posts have even fueled speculation about political ambitions after he shared views on immigration, tariffs, and foreign wars.
For now, however, Biden appears focused on his growing online audience.
“This crackhead has a lot to say so buckle your seat belt my friend,” he told followers.
