Laura Loomer has long been a cheerleader for President Donald Trump.
But Trump’s decision Monday to grant 600,000 visas to Chinese students to attend American universities didn’t give her much to cheer about, per a report on Mediaite.
Loomer went on social media Monday night to blast Trump’s idea of allowing “CCP spies” into the U.S., which is a complete turnaround for the administration’s previous policies.
Trump called Beijing “a very important partner” on Monday.
“We’re going to allow their students to come in. It’s very important, 600,000 students. It’s very important. But we’re going to get along with China, the president added.
This is a reversal to a May announcement by Secretary of State Marco Rubio who said the U.S. would “aggressively revoke” visas of Chinese nationals affiliated with the Communist Party or working in sensitive research.
Looker said it was “basic math” that the student visas would outweigh the deportations.
“If we are only mass deporting 1,000 illegals each day but allowing 600,000 Chinese spies to come to our country, how can we call them mass deportations?” Loomer posted on X. “Do the math. We will never get rid of the millions who came in under Biden.”
“It’s basic math,” she added.
She was not done there.
“Now that we are importing 600,000 CCP spies, what’s the point of American students going into STEM?” Looked wrote in another post.
“Nobody, I repeat nobody, wants 600,000 more Chinese ‘students’ aka Communist spies in the United States,” she wrote in a third post. “China murdered 1.2 million Americans.”
“Now they get to replace us?” she continued. “This cannot happen.”
“China murdered 1.2 million Americans with a bio weapon,” Loomer wrote. “Send us reparations. Not CCP spies.”
She also directed a post to White House deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller.
“Paging @StephenM,” she started. “Nobody, I repeat nobody, wants 600,000 more Chinese “students” aka Communist spies in the United States.”
“China murdered 1.2 million Americans,” she posted. “Now they get to replace us?”
“This cannot happen,” she added.
But Loomer was not alone in her critiques — she found an unusual ally in Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) with whom she is generally at odds.
“We should not let in 600,000 CHINESE students to attend American colleges and universities that may be loyal to the CCP,” the congresswoman wrote on X. “If refusing to allow these Chinese students to attend our schools causes 15% of them to fail then these schools should fail anyways because they are being propped up by the CCP.”
“Why are we allowing 600,000 students from China to replace our American student’s opportunities?” she added. “We should never allow that.”
“And we need more trade school graduates,” Greene continued.
“Trade schools are a GREAT alternative and produce the essential education and training for the most needed jobs in America with very high starting pay,” she concluded.
Trump’s new student visa policy regarding Chinese students comes as he attempts to raise tariffs for China — as much as 200% — if the U.S. does not get access to rare earth magnets.
Trump said students would not be in the crossfire of the trade war.
