A tornado tore through a residential area outside Houston, damaging more than 100 homes, authorities said Monday.
According to The Associated Press, photos and drone footage shared on Facebook by the Harris County Precinct 4 constable showed roofs stripped of shingles and debris scattered across streets, some blocking roadways.
No injuries have been reported.
The Memorial Northwest neighborhood was among the hardest hit, according to the office of Constable Mark Herman.
The Houston Fire Department sent five members of its saw team to remove toppled trees and clear debris from affected areas, spokesperson Rustin Rawlings said.
The National Weather Service issued a tornado watch for southeastern Texas, including Houston, lasting until 1 a.m. Tuesday. The agency also issued a severe thunderstorm warning for parts of the region.
Residents are being urged to stay alert as cleanup efforts continue and storm warnings remain in effect.
