Well, well, well. Another Sunday morning, another round of clutching pearls over at ABC News and WaPo — this time courtesy of Jonathan Karl and Martha Raddatz, who apparently think they’re the last line of defense against testosterone, common sense, and actually securing America’s borders. The target of this week’s hand-wringing? War Secretary Pete Hegseth, who allegedly gave the go-ahead for a second strike on narco-terrorists — you know, the ones actively poisoning our communities with lethal drugs, shipping chaos and addiction across our border with industrial efficiency.

The horror.

Let’s be very clear: Hegseth isn’t accused of ordering strikes on civilians or humanitarian aid convoys. We’re talking about armed traffickers aligned with Designated Terrorist Organizations. That’s not hyperbole — that’s the legal classification. But according to the armchair generals at The Washington Post, and now echoed by Karl and Raddatz, we’re supposed to be outraged because two alleged narco-terrorists didn’t go down with the boat and were left clinging to the wreckage, only to allegedly be targeted again. Cue the dramatic music and Raddatz’s trembling voice: “Did those two men pose an imminent threat?”

Imminent threat? Are we seriously going to pretend that drug traffickers — affiliated with terror groups, no less — just lose their danger status once they’re floating on debris? You don’t think they’ve got comms devices, GPS, maybe even drones overhead? These aren’t pirates from a 17th-century movie. They’re part of billion-dollar networks that have better logistics than half the UN.

But here we are, with ABC’s global affairs correspondent — a person who has never worn a uniform, never faced an enemy, never had to make a life-or-death call — questioning whether America’s warriors are consulting enough lawyers before pulling the trigger. Because that’s the priority, right? Not national security. Not the 100,000+ Americans dying from fentanyl every year. No, we’re supposed to fret about whether the Rules of War include “don’t hurt the bad guys when they’re wet.”

And Jonathan Karl? He didn’t even bring Hegseth on for a response. Instead, he let Raddatz run with a WaPo hit piece as gospel, while the man being accused was miles away, posting his rebuttal on X. Hegseth didn’t mince words: “As usual, the fake news is delivering more fabricated, inflammatory, and derogatory reporting to discredit our incredible warriors fighting to protect the homeland.” Say what you will, but the man knows how to throw a punch.

The Washington Compost provided NO FACTS and NO SUBSTANTIATION. They literally just printed what some unnamed random person said and reported it as fact.

This is the same playbook they used during the first term. The difference is that nobody trusts outlets like WaPo anymore. https://t.co/MPWG0DLEa3

Should America continue aggressive strikes against narco-terrorists in light of recent media criticism?

And let’s talk about that punch. Hegseth’s strategy isn’t some rogue cowboy maneuver. It’s policy — one built around “lethal, kinetic strikes” targeting operatives actively engaged in drug trafficking operations. Not “strongly worded memos,” not drone surveillance selfies — actual action. Because, spoiler alert, deterrence only works when the other side knows you’ll follow through. And under the Trump-Vance administration, following through isn’t just a talking point — it’s expected.

However, what he wrote on his personal account was hilarious.

But that’s exactly why the left-leaning media and their friends at The Washington Post are in meltdown mode. Hegseth represents everything they can’t control: unapologetic patriotism, clear mission goals, and zero interest in coddling enemies of the state. So now they’re trotting out the tired narrative — “Was this legal? Were the lawyers consulted? What about the optics?” as if the cartels care about Geneva Conventions.

Let’s not forget what’s really going on here. The media isn’t just mad that narco-terrorists got smoked. They’re mad that someone in Washington still thinks America should defend itself without asking permission. And that scares them more than any cartel ever could.

So yeah, this story’s got all the ingredients the media loves: drama, moral panic, and an opportunity to slam a Trump official who’s actually doing his job. But the rest of us? We’re watching the fake outrage machine sputter while actual warriors handle the real threats. And we’re fine with that.
