A fundraising campaign created for Corey Harrison after his motorcycle accident is drawing pushback from his father.
According to Page Six, Rick Harrison said he already covered his son’s medical costs and suggested Corey is responsible for managing his own finances.
“As far as I know, I paid all of Corey’s medical bills long before he put the GoFundMe out,” Rick told Page Six through a representative on Friday. “He is a grown man in his 40’s and is responsible for how he handles his finances.”
The fundraiser was started earlier this week by Corey’s friend Aron Chambers. The campaign claims it is meant to help pay for significant medical expenses after a motorcycle crash in Tulum, Mexico.
Supporters are reportedly “raising emergency funds to cover more than $100,000 in medical bills and related expenses after a serious motorcycle accident in Tulum, Mexico, that left him fighting for his life.”
Corey, 42, shared an update about the crash shortly after it happened in January.
“Pretty messed up but I’m good,” the “Pawn Stars” alum wrote on Instagram while posting a photo from his hospital bed. “Crash bars are awesome. Three nights in the hospital. 11 breaks in my rib cage.”
The injuries forced Corey to miss his father’s January wedding to Angie Polushkin.
At the time, a representative for Rick told Entertainment Weekly that Corey would “recover fully” but needed “bed rest for 6 weeks while he heals.”
“Rick saw him in the hospital yesterday,” the representative added on Jan. 26.
Chambers described the accident as severe, writing that Corey also suffered a concussion, internal bleeding and a punctured lung.
He said Corey was taken to a hospital in Playa del Carmen, where “costs for care add[ed] up fast.”
The fundraiser claims Corey initially left the hospital after 14 days due to financial concerns. Chambers said he later spent another 18 days hospitalized and underwent “three life-saving surgeries.”
Chambers also wrote that Corey is now “three months behind on rent” and needs help paying for medication and ongoing medical care.
“He’s not yet strong enough to travel back to the United States for continued treatment and support from his family,” Chambers claimed. “This fundraiser is our lifeline to get him through this.”
“Corey has always been the guy who works hard, stays humble, and gives back without asking for anything in return,” he added.
“Now, it’s our turn to rally for him. Asking for help isn’t easy for someone as independent as Corey, but this accident has changed everything, and we can’t do it alone.”
Corey spoke briefly about his situation during an interview with TMZ.
“What am I going to do, fly out to Vegas and sell stuff?” he said. “I can’t move from my recliner.”
Rick also told the outlet that “Corey is a grown man and he will deal with his life as he sees fit.”
Both men became widely known through the History Channel reality show Pawn Stars, which debuted in 2009 and remained on the air until it went on hiatus in 2025.
The show is expected to return in 2027, but Corey will reportedly not be part of the revival, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal.
The latest controversy comes as the Harrison family continues to cope with loss. Rick’s son Adam died in 2024 at age 39 after a fentanyl overdose.
