President Donald Trump is blaming “radical left lunatics” for sending Rudy Giuliani to the hospital.
The president accused Democrats on Truth Social for ally Guliani’s hospitalization, which was announced Sunday.
“Our fabulous Rudy Giuliani, a True Warrior, and the Best Mayor in the History of New York City, BY FAR, has been hospitalized, and is in critical condition,” Trump posted Sunday night. “What a tragedy that he was treated so badly by the Radical Left Lunatics, Democrats ALL — AND HE WAS RIGHT ABOUT EVERYTHING! They cheated on the Elections, fabricated hundreds of stories, did anything possible to destroy our Nation, and now, look at Rudy. So sad!”
Earlier Sunday, Giuliani spokesperson Ted Goodman released that Giuliani, 81, was in critical condition in a Florida hospital.
“Mayor Rudy Giuliani is currently in the hospital, where he remains in critical but stable condition,” Goodman said. “Mayor Giuliani is a fighter who has faced every challenge in his life with unwavering strength, and he’s fighting with that same level of strength as we speak.”
Goodman did not state which hospital Giuliani was in nor the reason for the hospitalization.
Giuliani was mayor of New York City from 1994 to 2001.
He became known as “America’s Mayor” after the Sept. 11 terror attacks.
Giuliani served as Trump’s personal attorney during the president’s first term. He was outspoken in his effort to overturn the 2020 election.
Giuliani reached a confidential settlement in the defamation suit brought against him by Dominion Voting Systems last year. The company alleged Guiliani told “defamatory falsehoods” about it following the 2020 election.
