A violent chain of events that began outside an Arizona sports bar ended with two young children and their mother dead inside a Phoenix home.

According to the New York Post, police say 38-year-old Andrea Clarice Davis opened fire outside Tailgaters Sports Bar & Grill early Monday morning before returning home and fatally shooting her children in an apparent murder-suicide.

Authorities said the incident started shortly after midnight in Glendale, where Davis allegedly confronted her husband, Nolan Davis, and a 36-year-old woman who was with him outside the bar.

Andrea Davis (38) killed both of her children in a murder-suicide after shooting a woman that was with her husband at a bar.

According to police, Andrea Davis fired multiple shots at the pair.

The unidentified woman was struck in the back of the head while trying to escape in her vehicle, Glendale police spokesperson Jose Santiago said.

Investigators said the injured woman survived and was hospitalized with non-life-threatening injuries.

After the shooting, police say Andrea Davis drove back to the family’s home in Phoenix, located a few miles away from the bar.

While officers were still responding to the shooting scene, Nolan Davis allegedly received alarming messages from his wife.

Police said she texted him, threatening to harm the couple’s children, and sent a graphic image showing one child injured.

Officers immediately rushed to the home after learning about the messages.

“Because we already knew this was a dire situation, officers forced their way into the home, and that’s when they encountered this horrific situation,” Santiago said.

Should there be increased support for mental health resources to prevent tragedies like this?

Inside, police found Andrea Davis dead along with the couple’s two children — 10-year-old Austin and 18-month-old Andolan.

Investigators are still piecing together the timeline and motive surrounding the shootings.

Police have not publicly detailed the exact relationship between Nolan Davis and the injured woman from the bar shooting.

“Right now, we can tell you they knew each other, but we do not know the extent of how they knew each other; that’s all part of the investigation,” Santiago said.

“We do know that they were familiar with one another, and there was some type of relationship. How familiar and what type of relationship, that’s unknown at this time.”

Andrea Davis’ friend Amy Bowers told AZFamily that Davis had struggled emotionally in recent months because she believed her husband was involved with another woman.

“This relationship … completely made her lose her mind,” Bowers said.

“They haven’t had anything like this come up before. And so I think the shock of that is just a lot for her. She was just, she was not feeling good. And she’s been asking for help from everybody. Like it’s not been secret.”

Bowers also said Davis worried about what would happen to her children if her marriage ended.

“I feel really bad nobody was thinking about the kids this whole time,” she said.

Police said neither the Glendale Police Department nor the Phoenix Police Department had any prior domestic violence history involving the couple before Monday’s shootings.
