Former first lady Jill Biden is facing a wave of criticism after revealing she feared President Joe Biden was suffering a medical emergency during his widely scrutinized 2024 debate against President Donald Trump.

According to Fox News, while speaking in a recent interview with CBS, Jill Biden described the moment she watched her husband struggle on stage during the matchup that intensified concerns about his health and mental sharpness.

“I wasn’t horrified, I was frightened,” she said.

“I had never, ever seen Joe like that before or since. I don’t know what happened. As I watched it, I said, ‘Oh my God, he’s having a stroke.’ It scared me to death.”

The comments immediately reignited debate over President Biden’s condition during the final stretch of his presidency.

Throughout the 2024 debate, Biden often appeared soft-spoken and disoriented, at times losing his train of thought and stumbling through answers. One of the night’s most talked-about moments came when he declared his administration had “defeated Medicaid.”

At the time, Democrats argued the performance was an isolated bad night rather than evidence of a deeper decline.

But Jill Biden’s latest remarks drew sharp reactions online, particularly from conservatives who accused allies of the former president of downplaying concerns.

Conservative commentator Kevin Dalton pointed to Jill Biden’s public behavior immediately after the debate.

“Of course, moments after the debate a clearly not frightened Jill Biden praised Joe for answering all the debate questions like a toddler,” Dalton wrote.

New York Post columnist Miranda Devine also questioned the former first lady’s account.

“Sorry but this is such BS. If she genuinely was ‘frightened’ that he was having a stroke then any rational wife would have insisted he go straight to the hospital,” Devine posted on X.

“Instead she dragged him off to a Waffle House and patronized him on stage like a baby: ‘Joe – you did such a great job.’ We saw his incapacity for years. Don’t try to rewrite history.”

OutKick founder Clay Travis blasted Jill Biden in a separate post, writing, “This woman is pure evil. And an awful liar.”

Fox News host Jimmy Failla mocked the explanation as well.

“Jill Biden was SO concerned her husband had a stroke during the debate she started a ‘4 more years’ chant right after. What a power hungry sociopath,” Failla wrote.

Sen. Mike Lee also weighed in, saying he remembered wondering if something else had affected Biden during the debate.

“Jill Biden thought her husband was having a stroke the night he debated Donald Trump in 2024. I kept wondering whether someone had drugged him,” Lee posted.
