Tom Hardy’s future on Paramount+ crime series “Mobland” is suddenly under scrutiny after new reports detailed alleged behind-the-scenes tension and production delays tied to the actor’s behavior on set.
According to reports from The Hollywood Reporter and Puck News, Hardy repeatedly kept the cast and crew waiting during filming, at times remaining inside his trailer for hours while production stalled.
“He refused to come out of his trailer for hours at a time,” one source told The Hollywood Reporter.
“He kept the cast waiting, [which is] a power play. Keeping Pierce Brosnan, Helen Mirren and others waiting is career suicide, I would wager.”
The alleged delays reportedly affected scenes involving Brosnan and Mirren, two of the show’s biggest stars alongside Hardy.

Reports also claimed Hardy was frequently late during filming for the show’s second season and regularly offered script notes while making dialogue changes that had not been approved beforehand.
The allegations have reignited discussion surrounding Hardy’s past reputation for clashes during productions.
Similar reports surfaced years earlier during the making of “Mad Max: Fury Road,” where tensions between Hardy and co-star Charlize Theron became widely publicized.

Director George Miller later acknowledged difficulties between the actors during the demanding shoot.
“Tom has a damage to him but also a brilliance that comes with it, and whatever was going on with him at the time, he had to be coaxed out of his trailer,” Miller said, according to THR.
“Whereas Charlize was incredibly disciplined – a dancer by training, which told in the precision of her performance – and always the first one on set.”
Miller also suggested the friction reflected the dynamic between their characters onscreen.
“I’m an optimist, so I saw their behavior as mirroring their characters, where they had to learn to cooperate in order to ensure mutual survival,” he said.
“There’s no excuse for it, and I think there’s a tendency in this business to use great performances as an excuse for other disruption that could be avoided.”
Hardy stars in “Mobland” as Harry Da Souza, a calculating fixer tied to a powerful London crime family.
The actor has long been regarded as one of Hollywood’s most intense performers, earning acclaim through projects including “Bronson,” “Inception,” “The Dark Knight Rises,” “The Revenant,” “Venom,” “Band of Brothers,” and “Black Hawk Down.”
Despite the growing controversy, Paramount+ has not announced whether “Mobland” will return for a third season.
THR reported that if the series is renewed, production is expected to begin in September.
