There’s a special kind of poetic justice when the masks slip, and one of the Left’s own hits “send” on an email that wasn’t meant to see the light of day. But thanks to a well-timed leak—and bless the hero who sent it—we now have a front-row seat to the panic swirling inside the teachers’ union.

And not just any union member. We’re talking about Leo Casey, the Assistant to Randi Weingarten herself. Yes, that Randi. Queen of the union stranglehold on public education and perennial defender of failing systems.

And what’s Leo so worried about? Zohran Mamdani. The democratic socialist darling. The guy the far-Left has been grooming for more power, like he’s their next big ideological export. But turns out, even Leo—pulling in a sweet $234,400 salary while preaching equity—has his doubts.

Oh yes, my friends. He wrote the words: “Mamdani has no experience in city government.” That sound you just heard was the collective gasp of every DSA slack channel crashing in real time.

BREAKING: I have a leaked email from the “Assistant to Randi Weingarten” voicing concerns about Zohran Mamdani’s “ability to govern.”

But it gets juicier. This wasn’t just idle office gossip. Leo dropped that gem of a line in an email to the Democratic Socialists of America themselves. You know, the exact people you’d expect to rally behind Mamdani with pom-poms and campaign posters. So when even they are getting side-eyed internal memos about their rising star… whew. We’ve got smoke—and where there’s smoke, there’s usually a flaming dumpster fire of progressive dysfunction.

Let’s talk Chicago. Because Leo did. And it wasn’t flattering. In fact, he invoked the disaster that is Mayor Brandon Johnson’s tenure, noting that his approval rating is now sitting pretty at a jaw-dropping 14%. That’s not just bad. That’s historic. Worst-in-mayoral-history bad. And Leo’s words? “Something has clearly gone wrong.” Ya think?

The email that was leaked to me was sent by Leo Casey, “Assistant to Randi Weingarten.”

He says “winning an election does not necessarily translate into the ability to govern.”

“it is important to face squarely what has happened in Chicago.. It has not gone well.” pic.twitter.com/y7MqZoqqU7

Now, imagine being Zohran Mamdani reading that email. The assistant to one of the most powerful union bosses in America, warning your own movement that you could be the next Brandon Johnson. I mean, ouch. That’s not just a red flag—that’s a full-blown parade.

And who leaked this juicy little memo? None other than Corey DeAngelis, the school choice evangelist who the teachers’ unions probably have dartboards of in their offices. So either Leo is woefully careless with his email, or—and this is the fun part—someone inside the DSA wanted this out. Someone wanted this heard. Loud and clear. The Left eats its own, and right now, Mamdani’s getting a nibble.

Even better? Leo confirmed the email is legit. No gaslighting. No spin. Just a clean “yep, I said it,” tied up with a nice little bow. And let’s not skip past the irony here: a socialist insider, pulling in nearly a quarter million a year, warning his fellow comrades about another socialist’s inability to function in a role of actual governance. You can’t script this stuff.

BREAKING: Leo Casey, Assistant to Randi Weingarten, responds and CONFIRMS the authenticity of the leaked message from him that expressed concerns about Mamdani’s “ability to govern” and that “something has clearly gone wrong” in Chicago with Mayor Brandon Johnson. pic.twitter.com/xANjn1fgZt

So what does this tell us? Well, for starters, the Left knows their product isn’t selling anymore. People are waking up to the trainwreck that is progressive governance. They’ve seen it in Chicago. They’ve seen it in San Francisco. And now, apparently, the Left’s own insiders are trying to pump the brakes on letting Mamdani pilot the next wreck.

Bottom line? If the Randi Weingarten inner circle is sounding the alarm on one of their own, there’s more rot beneath the surface than they’re letting on. And if Corey DeAngelis has it, you know others do too.

So grab the popcorn. Or, better yet—grab the receipts. This show’s just getting started.
