Actress Anne Heche previously said that she warned Portia de Rossi about her ex-girlfriend, Ellen DeGeneres, during a 2021 podcast episode.
On an episode of her “Better Together” podcast with Heather Duffy that premiered in June 2021, Heche remembered a moment when de Rossi asked her about DeGeneres.
“By the way, I warned her,” Heche said, adding, “Portia even asked me about Ellen.”
She explained, “Portia came to my wedding because I was on ‘Ally McBeal’ with her. Portia even said, ‘I’m gonna go after Ellen.'”
Heche continued, “You won’t be the poster child, girl, because guess what, that poster child has already been taken. And by the way, it wasn’t a great spot. But, yours ain’t gonna be any easier.”
She proceeded to tell her co-host that she said to de Rossi, “Red flag, red flag, red flag!”
Joking about her relationship with DeGeneres, Heche said, “I realized that Ellen drove a Porsche…and then she married one. All she used to do was drive Porsches and she collected them and I just thought it was so stupid because they were so loud.”
In case you missed it:
After Heche died last week as a result of injuries she sustained in a car crash, DeGeneres posted a message on Twitter.
“This is a sad day. I’m sending Anne’s children, family and friends all of my love,” the former talk show host tweeted.

In 1997, Heche and DeGeneres took their relationship public.
In October 2021, Heche told Page Six she believes she was blacklisted by the industry after coming out as a member of the LGBTQIA+ community.
“I didn’t do a studio picture for 10 years,” Heche said.
She added, “I was fired from a $10 million picture deal and did not see the light of day in a studio picture.”
In August 2000, the couple called it quits.
