Comedic legend Adam Sandler was forced to stop his show when an audience member experienced a medical emergency. He offered his support and well wishes while also keeping the crowd patient.
TMZ posted audience videos on YouTube, which displayed the awkward pause that left audiences waiting amid the emergency Wednesday at Sandler’s San Jose show.
Sandler led everyone to wait it out with encouragement. He said. “Let’s do it. Where’s that medic?”
While the audience watched, he narrated the scene noting, “Alright here comes the medic,” and helped the man experiencing issues get the help he needed, “Over here guys, right down there, on the left,” he directed the team.
Once the medical team came in to help the audience member, the audience clapped and cheered, offering their support.
Entertainment Weekly also shared another audience member’s footage TikTok. The outlet reported Sandler reminded the audience, “Let’s take a few seconds, we’ll just let these guys concentrate, alright? Love y’all.”
Sandler offered the man his well wishes after the danger seemed to be averted, stating, “We’re all wishing you well there, youngster, feel better back there. Sorry about that. That’s terrible”
“I hope everybody’s good, everybody’s alright. We’ll get going, we’ll start the show back up, alright?” He added
“Let’s give a round of applause for that dude, hope he feels better,” he concluded.
IJR reported that Sandler recently kicked off a new 25-stop North American tour On Oct 12. He posted about it on X, formerly Twitter, stating, “We gonna have fun!”
Sandler was also awarded the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor earlier this year and explained how his connection to others helped him to work on his jokes and rise to fame, according to the IJR.
During his acceptance speech, he noted, “My career’s been tremendous.”
