Barron Trump is joining the family business of politics by becoming a delegate for Florida at the Republican National Convention.
Barron Trump, 18, was one of the at-large delegates picked by the Republican Party of Florida Wednesday night, according to the list of delegates.
The youngest son of the presumptive GOP presidential nominee will be one of many in the Trump family attending the convention as delegates.
Eric Trump as its delegation chairman. Son Donald Trump Jr. and daughter Tiffany Boulos and husband Michael Boulos are among the other at-large delegates, Politico reported.
Barron Trump “is very interested in our nation’s political process,” a Trump campaign official said.
The delegates will go to the Republican National Convention in Milwaukee in July.
Barron Trump graduates from high school later this month. His father, who is currently on trial in Manhattan for falsifying business records, has been given permission to attend, the Independent News Journal previously reported.
To date, the younger Trump has not announced his plans after graduation, per Politico.
Republican Party of Florida Chairman Evan Power released a statement regarding the list of delegates.
“We are fortunate to have a great group of grassroots leaders, elected officials, and members of the Trump family working together as part of the Florida delegation to the 2024 Republican National Convention,” Power said.
Not everyone was excited about the news and went on X, formerly Twitter, to declare Barron Trump is now “fair game” since he has entered the political arena.
Earlier this year, liberal commentator Mike Sington was criticized for announcing Barron Trump was fair game when he turned 18, as IJR reported on.
