Vice President Kamala Harris is making her list — and checking it twice — to see who will be her running mate in the 2024 presidential election.

The Democrat’s campaign sent vetting materials to a multitude of candidates Monday.

However, it appears Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear didn’t make the cut, per Mediaite.

Wall Street Journal White House reporter Ken Thomas — citing an unnamed source familiar with the matter, reported many potential vice presidential picks had been contacted for vetting materials.

They include Sen. Mark Kelly (D-AZ), North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper, Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro, Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker, and Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz.

Harris' campaign has requested vetting materials from potential VPs, including Cooper (NC), Kelly (AZ), Shapiro (PA), Whitmer (MI), Walz (MN) + Pritzker (IL), according to a person familiar. Beshear told CNN he hasn't been asked to submit info at this point.

However, Beshear, who has been on several lists as a potential Harris running mate – told CNN Monday was not asked to submit any vetting materials to Harris’ campaign.

“There are some people who have already started submitting information for vetting purposes,” said CNN host Kaitlan Collins during an interview. “Are you one of those people? Have you submitted any information to the Harris campaign?”

Beshear said, “I’ve not been personally asked to submit information at this point.”

Beshear said he would be open to becoming Harris’ running mate, but there was a caveat — he would do so only if he could help the people of Kentucky more in that role than as governor.

“The only reason I’d ever consider something else is if I felt that I could help my people in Kentucky more in a different role or that there was a chance to move past the partisanship, the constant fighting,” he said.
