A majority of Americans say they have a favorable view of President Joe Biden, according to a new poll.
The Morning Consult-Politico poll, which was released on Wednesday, found that 52% of registered voters say they have a “favorable” view of Biden, while 45% say they have an “unfavorable” view of him.
The president received his highest favorability rating from voters in the 35-44 age range, with 61% of respondents in that bracket saying they have a “favorable” view of Biden.
The survey also found that 56% of Democrats or “lean Democrat” voters said they “strongly approve” of Biden’s job performance, and 34% said they “somewhat approve” of his performance.
Meanwhile, just 4% of Republican or “lean Republican” voters said they “strongly approve” of his performance, while 10% said they “somewhat approve” and 67% said they “strongly disapprove.”
While the poll found Biden receiving an over 50% favorability rating, the story is different for Vice President Kamala Harris.
According to the poll, 45% of respondents say they have a favorable view of Harris, while 47% said they have an unfavorable view, and 5% said they did not have an opinion.
The vice president’s favorability rating was just one point higher than former President Donald Trump, who received a 44% favorability rating.
However, Harris’ received a lower unfavorability rating than the former president, who received a 54% unfavorable rating.
The poll surveyed 1,997 registered voters between July 16 and July 18.
