Former Vice President Joe Biden has been accused of sexually assaulting a Senate staffer nearly 30 years ago.
Now his accuser, Tara Reade, is calling for the presumptive Democratic nominee to end his campaign for president.
During an interview with Megyn Kelly, Reade was asked what she would like to say to Biden, she said, “I want to say, you and I were there — Joe Biden — please step forward and be held accountable. You should not be running on character for the President of the United States.”
Kelly asked if Reade would like Biden to end his presidential bid, and she responded, “I wish he would. But he won’t. I wish he would.”
Additionally, Reade said she thinks it is “a little late” for an apology from Biden.

Reade accused Biden of sexually assaulting her in 1993, as IJR reported. And Biden has denied the allegation, “So I want to address allegations by a former staffer that I engaged in misconduct 27 years ago. They aren’t true. This never happened.”
During her interview with Kelly, Reade accused Biden surrogates of treating her “horribly.”
“It’s been stunning how some of his surrogates have been saying really horrible things about me, to me on social media. He hasn’t himself. There’s a measure of hypocrisy with the campaign saying it’s safe. All my social media has been hacked. All of my personal information has been dragged through. Every person that maybe has a gripe against me, whether it be an ex-boyfriend or an ex-landlord or whatever it may be has been able to have a platform rather than me.”
She also said she received a death threat after she was accused of being a Russian asset “because they thought I was being a traitor to America.”
“And his campaign is taking this position that they want all women to be able to speak safely. I have not experienced that,” Reade said.
Reade’s comments come after several high-profile Democrats have called for Reade’s allegation to be heard, but said that they believe Biden’s denial.
