President Joe Biden is being criticized after chuckling while discussing a sensitive issue.

While delivering remarks Wednesday, Biden reacted to a comment made by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) about security at the border.

“She was very specific recently, saying that a mom, a poor mother who lost two kids to fentanyl, that, that I killed her sons. Well, the interesting thing is that fentanyl they took came during the last administration,” Biden said with a chuckle.

Twitter users were quick to point out Biden’s lack of sensitivity to the matter.

Comedian Tim Young wrote, “Just another day of Biden laughing at Americans in need…”

She added, “What a horrible person.”

Rapid response director for RNC research Tommy Pigott said, “What a disgusting thing to do. Especially from a president who has seen such an increase in fentanyl smuggling on his watch.”

Earlier this week, Greene posted a video of her conversation with mother and activist Rebecca Kiessling.

Two of her children died as a result of fentanyl on July 29, 2020.

“Listen to this mother, who lost two children to fentanyl poisoning, tell the truth about both of her son’s murders because of the Biden administrations refusal to secure our border and stop the Cartel’s from murdering Americans everyday by Chinese fentanyl,” Greene tweeted.

CNN published a fact check, saying Greene “wrongly suggested in the tweet that Kiessling had blamed the Biden administration for the death of her sons. In fact, Kiessling had explicitly told the committee the date of the tragedy, making clear that it happened with more than five months left in the presidency of Donald Trump.”
