President Joe Biden is confident he would fair well if he winds up running against his predecessor in the 2024 election.
During a trip to Europe, Biden was asked if he is concerned his foreign policy would be undone if former President Donald Trump returned to the White House.
“The first G-7 meeting I attended, like the one I did today, was in Great Britain,” Biden began. “And I sat down, and I said, ‘America’s back.’ And one of my counterparts as head of state said, ‘For how long? For how long?'” he continued.
Finally, Biden said, “I don’t blame anyone. I don’t criticize anyone for asking that question. But the next election, I’d be very fortunate if I had that same man running against me.”

Biden has previously stated that the prospect of a rematch would increase the chances that he would run for reelection.
During an interview with ABC News’ David Muir in December, the president was asked if he plans to run for another term.
“Yes,” Biden said. “But look, I’m a great respecter of fate. Fate has intervened in my life many, many times. If I’m in the health, I’m in now. If I’m in good health, then, in fact, I would run again.”
Muir pressed, “And if that means a rematch against Donald Trump?”
“You’re trying to tempt me now,” Biden responded with a laugh, adding, “Sure. Why would I not run against Donald Trump if he were the nominee? That’d increase the prospect of running.”
Trump has not said whether he plans to run again.
But during an interview with Fox News in September, he said, “I don’t think we’re going to have a choice. It is disgraceful.”
“It is getting to a point where we really have no choice,” Trump added.
The former president also claimed Biden is “an incompetent person as the leader of our country” and “divisive.”
