President Joe Biden says the chance of a rematch in 2024 against former President Donald Trump would only increase the “prospect” of him running for reelection.
During an interview with ABC’s David Muir that aired Wednesday, Biden was asked if he plans to run for reelection.”
“Yes,” Biden responded. “But look, I’m a great respecter of fate. Fate has intervened in my life many, many times. If I’m in the health I’m in now, if I’m in good health then, in fact, I would run again.”
Muir pressed, “And if that means a rematch against Donald Trump?”
“You’re trying to tempt me now,” Biden responded with a laugh, adding, “Sure. Why would I not run against Donald Trump if he were the nominee? That’d increase the prospect of running.”

Says Trump running would make him more likely to run again.

Trump has not said whether he plans to run again.
During an interview with Fox News in September, he said, “I don’t think we’re going to have a choice. It is disgraceful.”
“It is getting to a point where we really have no choice,” he added.
He also claimed Biden is “an incompetent person as the leader of our country” and “divisive.”
Former Fox News host Bill O’Reilly told NewsNation host Dan Abrams that he believes Trump will run again.
Meanwhile, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton told NBC earlier this month, “If I were a betting person right now, I’d say Trump is going to run again.”
Biden would be 82 in 2024, while Trump would be 78.
