Former President Joe Biden reached a milestone in his cancer treatment Monday — he rang the bell to signal the end of his radiation treatment.
As of now, it is not clear if Biden will need any further treatment for prostate cancer, ABC News reported.
Biden underwent treatment at Penn Medicine Radiation Oncology in Philadelphia for an aggressive form of prostate cancer, per Fox News.
His daughter, Ashley Biden, marked the occasion by posting a video of her father ringing the bell on social media.
“Rung the bell! Thank you to the incredible doctors, nurses, and staff at Penn Medicine. We are so grateful!” his daughter wrote on Instagram.
Watch:
“Dad has been so damn brave throughout his treatment. Grateful,” she wrote in a later post.
Earlier this month, it was reported Biden was having radiation treatment as well as hormone treatment, per ABC News.
A source said Biden had started radiation therapy a couple weeks before it was revealed.
In May, Biden’s office announced his cancer diagnosis, adding it had spread to his bones,
“The cancer appears to be hormone-sensitive which allows for effective management,” his office revealed.
Later that month, Biden said his treatment had started.
“It’s all a matter of taking a pill, one particular pill, for the next six weeks and then another one,” Biden said inat the time.
