President Joe Biden landed himself in hot water after making a claim about gas prices in California.
While Biden was in California, a reporter said, “Have you seen gas prices around here in LA? It’s 7 bucks a gallon almost.”
He replied, “Well, that’s always been the case here.”
Biden continued, “You know, it’s not — what — nationwide, they came down about $1.35, and they’re still down over a dollar. But we’re going to work on housing is the big, is the most important thing we have to do in terms of that.”

The average gas price in LA has never been $7 and was $3.15 when Trump left office.

The president’s remark sparked several reactions on Twitter.
California Republican Senate candidate Mark Meuser wrote, “I’m sorry Mr. President but California does not usually have $7 gas. In fact, prior to you becoming president, $5 gas in California was considered extremely high. You clearly are out of touch with how your policies are destroying this nation.”

To be clear, Democrats in Sacramento AND Washington are committed to making sure California has the highest gas prices in the nation.

According to AAA, the average price of a gallon of gas a year ago in California was $4.497.
The highest recorded average reached more than $6 in June for regular unleaded and over $7 for diesel during the same month.
Just one month before Biden took office, the average cost of gas in the state was just a little over $3, per the U.S. Energy Information Administration.
Over the weekend, Biden also received criticism for his comments about the economy while eating ice cream, as IJR reported.
“I’m not concerned about the strength of the dollar,” Biden said.
He continued, “I’m concerned about the rest of the world. Does that make sense? … Our economy is strong as hell… inflation is worldwide, worse off everywhere else than it is in the United States. So the problem is the lack of economic growth and sound policy in other countries.”
Ned Ryun, a senior fellow at the conservative American Greatness, shared his reaction on Twitter.
“I keep coming back to this video of this idiot grazing on ice cream, detached from reality, mumbling lies. . .” Ryun tweeted.
Conservative radio host Clay Travis argued Biden “saying, ‘Our economy is strong as hell,’ while eating an ice cream cone is so tone deaf and out of touch to what Americans actually see in their lives that it feels like the Democrats are intentionally tanking the election.”
