President Joe Biden says the Republican Party is only stirring up fear and spreading lies.
During a virtual fundraising event for the Democratic Party on Monday, the president said, “The Republican Party today offers nothing but fear, lies, and broken promises.”
“We have to keep cutting through the Republican fog that the government isn’t the problem and show that we the people, we the people, are always the solution,” he added.

Republicans have decried “big government” and recently claimed that Biden’s proposal for a door-to-door vaccination campaign would send “agents to your door to compel vaccinations.”
A Republican Congressman claimed the push could establish a mechanism where, “[The government] could then go door to door and take your guns. They could go door to door and take your Bibles.”
As NPR notes, “After years of avoiding words such as redistribution and labels such as socialist, the core of the Democratic Party is embracing big government,” and Biden is “leading the charge.”
During his first address to Congress, the president declared, “The Era of Big Government is back,” as he argued that the government should take a more prominent role in addressing the issues plaguing the country.
Biden has previously suggested that the Republican Party is nearing its end, as IJR reported.
During his first foreign trip since taking office, he sought to reassure U.S. allies that future presidents will uphold the promises he made.
He went on to take aim at Republicans, “I think it’s appropriate to say the Republican Party is vastly diminished in numbers.”
“The leadership of the Republican Party is fractured. And the Trump wing of the party is the bulk of the party, but it makes up a significant minority of the American people,” he added.
