President Joe Biden is opening up about whether he believes former President Donald Trump should be prevented from appearing on the ballot.
As he was leaving the White House on Tuesday, a reporter asked, “Should Donald Trump be allowed on the ballot?”
“As far as I’m concerned, that’s fine,” Biden responded.
Another reporter asked a question about why it is fine despite the alleged threat to democracy poised by Trump, the president said, “Because guys like you!”

Apparently confused as to what that mean, the reporter asked, “What am I doing?”
“I’m teasing, man. I’m teasing,” Biden said, adding, “It’s early!”
The exchange comes after Colorado’s Supreme Court ruled Trump is ineligible to hold office again, citing the clause of the 14th Amendment that prohibits individuals who engaged in an insurrection after taking an oath to uphold the Constitution from holding office again.
Meanwhile, Maine’s State of State Shenna Bellows removed the former president from the ballot for the same reason.
In December, Biden told reporters he believes it is “self-evident” that Trump is an insurrectionist.
However, he added, “Whether the 14th Amendment applies, we’ll let the court make that decision. But, he certainly supported an insurrection, no question about it, none, zero. And, he seems to be doubling down on everything.”
