Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is calling out former President Donald Trump and “his enablers” as Russia invades Ukraine.
Appearing on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe” Friday, Clinton said, “Maybe this terrible aggression by Putin will stiffen the spines of a lot of Republicans in office who understand you cannot continue to give Trump and his enablers a blank check because they will lead us to a very bad place.”
Clinton said she would “love” to see “some of the smart, articulate Republican members of Congress go ahead and be more willing to take on the craziness on the far-right.”

“Let’s show, through the hard work behind the scenes, what bipartisan foreign policy cooperation looks like,” Clinton later added.
Friday is the second day of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, per CNN. The outlet also writes, “As Russian troops advance, US intelligence officials are concerned that the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv could fall under Russian control within days, according to two sources familiar with the latest intelligence.”
Ukraine President Volodymyr Zelenskyy seemed to target U.S. President Joe Biden and others during his remarks on Friday morning, as IJR reported on.
“This morning we are defending our state alone. Like yesterday, the world’s most powerful forces are watching from afar,” he said.
Zelenskyy added, “Did yesterday’s sanctions convince Russia? We hear in our sky and see on our earth that this was not enough.”
On Thursday, Biden announced new sanctions on Russia, which include “export blocks on technology,” as well as “applied sanctions on Russian banks and ‘corrupt billionaires’ and their families who are close to the Kremlin,” CNN reported.
