Late night talk show hosts pulled no punches Tuesday night with one calling former President Donald Trump “demented” and another calling him “dumbass.”
But that is exactly what happened on “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert” and “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”
Stephen Colbert took Trump to task after the Republican presidential nominee apparently made up a word at a rally over the weekend, per the HuffPost.
“They’re just getting acclamented,” Trump said of immigrants. “You know what that means.”
“No,” Colbert said in response. “No, I don’t know what that means — ’cuz that’s not a word!”
Colbert then played a clip where Trump tried to define it.
“Acclamented. They’re getting used to a society that really goes too far,” Trump said.
“Oh, acclamented. I understand,” Colbert said. “I think that’s when you get acclimated to Trump being demented. It’s acclamented.”
Jimmy Kimmel’s attack on Trump centered on his choice of JD Vance as a running mate, the HuffPost reported.
“There are a lot of things Trump isn’t good at. One of the things he’s especially not good at is picking running mates,” Kimmel said. “He made a huge mistake with this JD Vance, who can’t stop stepping in it.”
Vance has been under scrutiny all summer with resurfaced comments like “childless cat ladies” and “miserable” women without children
“For a guy who wears more eyeliner than Liza Minnelli, you’d think he’d have a better understanding of women,” Kimmel said.
Kimmel also said Trump’s son, Donald Trump, Jr.reportedly encouraged the former president to pick Vance.
“Another good move, dumbass,” Kimmel said. “If Trump loses this election, he’s gonna sue his son to take the ‘junior’ away.”
