A video of Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) is making its rounds, showing him to appear to doze off as President Joe Biden addressed Congress.
Responding to the video clip on social media, Cruz wrote on Twitter, “#BoringButRadical.”
“Looks like Ted’s eyes are hooked up to his state’s power grid,” Trevor Noah, host of Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show,” tweeted in response to the video.
Cruz and Noah went back and forth on Twitter on Wednesday, where the senator suggested Noah “doesn’t understand why people like freedom.”

Despite seeming to fall asleep during Biden’s address, Cruz appeared on Fox News after where he reiterated that he believes the president’s speech was “boring but radical.” He accused Biden of “deliberately being boring,” adding, “but the substance of what he’s saying is radical.”
Biden spoke about emerging from the coronavirus pandemic, the historic moment for women, the U.S. economy, China, policing practices, among other topics during his address on Wednesday night.
The president also called the U.S. Capitol riot on January 6 “the worst attack on our democracy since the Civil War” and said white supremacy is the “most lethal terrorist threat” to the United States.
