A Democratic lawmaker is introducing a resolution to expel Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) from Congress.
“I believe some of my Republican colleagues, and one in particular, wish harm upon this legislative body. I’m not saying this for shock value. It’s the conclusion I drew after a member of Congress advocated violence against our peers, the speaker, and our government,” Rep. Jimmy Gomez (D-CA) said on Friday.
He added, “I take no joy in introducing this resolution, but any member who incites political violence and threatens our lives must be expelled and I’ll do everything I can in my power to protect our democracy and keep all of my colleagues safe.”

Seventy-two House Democrats are supportive of the resolution, with no Republican support.

Twitter also mistakenly suspended Greene’s account on Friday.
“We use a combination of technology and human review to enforce the Twitter Rules across the service,” a spokesperson for Twitter told CNBC in a statement.
They added, “In this case, our automated systems took enforcement action on the account referenced in error. This action has been reversed, and access to the account has been reinstated.”
Greene responded on the platform, “I was just told [Twitter] suspended me for 12 hrs in ‘error,’ on the same day Dems introduced a resolution to expel me from Congress. What a coincidence? Twitter’s little error wasn’t resolved until after 12 hrs. [Jack Dorsey] which employee made the ‘error?’ Reply to my email, Jack.”

The House in February voted to strip Greene of her committee assignments for her past controversial comments in a 230-199 vote, as IJR previously reported. Eleven Republicans voted in support of the resolution.
Greene later called Democrats “morons” for their votes to strip her of her committee assignments.
“I woke up early this morning literally laughing thinking about what a bunch of morons the Democrats (+11) are for giving some one like me free time,” Greene previously wrote on Twitter.
She continued, “In this Democrat tyrannical government, Conservative Republicans have no say on committees anyway. Oh this is going to be fun!”
