Less than 24 hours after walking free from federal custody, Don Lemon found himself surrounded by applause, celebrity support, and high-powered allies at one of Hollywood’s most exclusive nights.
According to Page Six, the former CNN anchor attended Clive Davis’ legendary pre-Grammys gala on Saturday evening, arriving at the Beverly Hills Hilton alongside his husband, Tim Malone.
By all accounts, Lemon appeared relaxed and upbeat as he worked the room at the annual invite-only event.
According to a source who observed the interactions, Lemon received encouragement from figures spanning politics, music, and entertainment — including former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and hip-hop icon Busta Rhymes.
Pelosi, the source said, personally greeted Lemon and framed his recent legal trouble in constitutional terms.
After Lemon was charged with conspiring to deprive rights for livestreaming while anti-ICE protesters entered a church in Minnesota, Pelosi reportedly told him he had become the face of the First Amendment.
The exchange did not stop there.
“Don then asked her if there will be an election in 2026, and she said, ‘yes’,” the source added.
Lemon had been taken into custody by federal agents Thursday night after attending the 2026 Recording Academy Honors in Los Angeles. He was released shortly thereafter.
The journalist, who now runs an independent YouTube show, has been working the awards circuit in recent weeks. He was seen socializing with Busta Rhymes prior to his arrest — and the two reunited at Davis’ bash.
“They have put you in the spotlight,” Busta Rhymes told Lemon at the event. “And it may seem tough now, but they can’t stop you.”
Davis himself acknowledged Lemon during the evening, giving him a shout-out over the microphone as one of the VIP guests. The recognition prompted thunderous applause and a standing ovation from the crowd.
The party drew a long list of A-listers, including Lizzo, Gayle King, Heidi Klum, Paris Jackson, Rita Wilson, Teyana Taylor, Jon Batiste, Jennifer Hudson, Gladys Knight, Berry Gordy, Smokey Robinson, Colman Domingo, Tyla, Diplo, and Chet Hanks. Sharon, Kelly, and Jack Osbourne were also in attendance, as were Lorraine Schwartz, Suzanne de Passe, Denise Rich, Max Tucci, and Sandra Lee.
Lemon was spotted dancing during Olivia Dean’s live performance, clearly enjoying the night.
However, Lemon and Malone skipped Davis’ unofficial after-party at the Polo Lounge at the Beverly Hills Hotel, where Kathy Hilton and Jeff Beacher later gathered. The couple also missed Davis’ friends-and-family dinner the night before, which took place shortly after Lemon’s release.
That dinner honored Liza Minnelli, who reportedly held court while enjoying wine and conversation with Nikki Haskell.
