Fox News’ Peter Doocy is asking if President Joe Biden plans to change his language toward Iran after his warning of “don’t” failed to deter its attack on Israel.
During a press briefing on Monday, Doocy asked, “Has President Biden considered beefing up the public Iran posture to be more than one word?”
National Security Council Coordinator for Strategic Communications John Kirby, responded, “You’re referring to ‘don’t.'”
Doocy interjected, “And [Iran] did anyway.”
However, Kirby went on:
“Let’s talk about what we did. Let’s talk about ‘don’t’ and did. Let’s talk about Saturday night. [Biden] made it clear that he didn’t want to see escalation in the region. He added military resources to the region right after Oct. 7. And then when we had an inkling that this kind of thing was coming, he added even more military resources to the region.”

Kirby added, “You can talk about the ‘don’t’ word all you want, but let’s talk about what did happen. And what did happen was Iran utterly failed.”
On Saturday, Iran launched over 300 missiles and drones into Israel in retaliation for the killing of seven Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps officers. Israel has not claimed responsibility for the attack, though it its believed to be behind the strike.
The vast majority of the missiles and drones were intercepted.
After Iran’s attack, the Iranian Mission to the United Nations said, “The matter can be deemed concluded.”
“However, should the Israeli regime make another mistake, Iran’s response will be considerably more severe. It is a conflict between Iran and the rogue Israeli regime, from which the U.S. MUST STAY AWAY!” it added.
A day before the Iran’s attack, Biden issued a warning of, “Don’t.”
“We are devoted to the defense of Israel. We will support Israel,” he added. “We will help defend Israel, and Iran will not succeed.”
