Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff tested positive for COVID-19 Saturday, according to a statement from his office.
The husband of Vice President Kamala Harris was tested after experiencing mild symptoms, CNN reported.
Harris has tested negative and is not experiencing symptoms asymptomatic, according to Emhoff communications director Liza Acevedo.
The couple was seen on a balcony at the White House with President Joe Biden and first lady Jill Biden Thursday for Independence Day.
Harris is on tour through the US on what the Biden administration has called the “Summer of Engagement.”
Harris will deliver a keynote speech at the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority’s 71st Boule on Wednesday in Dallas.
Biden is making campaign stops in Pennsylvania as he tries to rebound from the presidential debate June 27.
Emhoff tested positive for COVID-19 in March 2022.
Harris tested positive a month later but did not have any symptoms.
