Elon Musk Mocks Twitter’s Leadership With Memes

CHICAGO, IL - JUNE 14: Chicago Engineer and tech entrepreneur Elon Musk of The Boring Company talks about constructing a high speed transit tunnel at Block 37 during a news conference on June 14, 2018 in Chicago, Illinois. Musk said he could create a 16-passenger vehicle to operate on a high-speed rail system that could get travelers to and from downtown Chicago and O'hare International Airport under twenty minutes, at speeds of over 100 miles per hour. Billionaire Elon Musk mocked Twitter’s leadership by using memes on the platform.

On Friday, Musk officially terminated his $44 billion deal to buy Twitter.

The company then vowed to take legal action.

Reacting to the battle with Twitter, Musk tweeted a meme showing four different levels of amusement.

The first level states, “They said I couldn’t buy Twitter.”

It goes on to the second, saying, “Then they wouldn’t disclose bot info.”

The third noted the company now wants to “force” him to buy the platform in court.

Finally, the last level shows Musk laughing with the caption, “Now they have to disclose bot info in court.”

Another meme showed a photo of actor Chuck Norris with a chessboard. Though the meme does not directly mention Twitter, it appears to refer to the situation.

“Chuckmate,” Musk added.

Politico noted the announcement was made in a letter from Skadden Arps attorney Mike Ringler on Musk’s behalf.

The letter claims Twitter was in “material breach” of “multiple provisions” of the initial agreement.

“Sometimes Twitter has ignored Mr. Musk’s request, sometimes it has rejected them for reasons that appear to be unjustified, and sometimes it has claimed to comply while giving Mr. Musk incomplete or unusable information,” the letter said.

The company issued a statement, saying, “The Twitter Board is committed to closing the transaction on the price and terms agreed upon with Mr. Musk and plans to pursue legal action to enforce the merger agreement.”

It continued, “We are confident we will prevail in the Delaware Court of Chancery.”

Fox News reported on Monday that Twitter shares tumbled following the news of Musk’s announcement.

Former President Donald Trump also reacted to the news on his social media platform Truth Social.

“THE TWITTER DEAL IS DEAD, LONG LIVE THE ‘TRUTH,'” Trump wrote.
