The FBI in Detroit, Michigan, “disrupted a Jihadi terror plot” planned for Halloween weekend, White House counterterrorism adviser Sebastian Gorka said Friday.
Gorka announced the suspected Islamist plot in an X post after FBI Director Kash Patel said that multiple people were arrested Friday morning in Michigan for allegedly plotting violence. Michigan FBI agents “were present in the cities of Dearborn and Inkster this morning conducting law enforcement activities,” the FBI’s Detroit field office told the Daily Caller News Foundation.

Should law enforcement increase vigilance against potential violent threats during holidays?
“Through swift action and close coordination with our local partners, a potential act of terror was stopped before it could unfold,” Patel told the DCNF in a statement. “The vigilance of this FBI prevented what could have been a tragic attack — and thanks to their dedication, Michigan will have a safe and happy Halloween.”
Federal agents became aware of conversations in which the suspects talked about leading a shooting attack inspired by ISIS on Halloween, CNN and The New York Post reported, citing sources familiar with the probe. One suspect is a 16-year-old, according to The New York Post. Authorities have not released names or other details about the arrestees.
“Protect the Homeland,” FBI Deputy Director Dan Bongino wrote in response to Patel’s X post.
