Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.) suffered a bruised shoulder in a Maryland accident Sunday.

Letterman and his wife

Giselle were both transported to the hospital after a two-car accident, per USA Today.

According to a Maryland State Police spokesperson, a Chevrolet Traverse driven by the Pennsylvania senator hit the back of a Chevrolet Impala on Interstate 70 in Hancock.

The other driver was also taken to War Memorial Hospital in West Virginia, the department said in a statement.

The investigation is ongoing and to date no citations have been given, according to the state police.

The Fettermans were taken to the hospital out of an abundance of caution, a spokesperson for the senator said, adding they were released Sunday afternoon.

There was no word on any injuries Fetterman’s wife suffered.

The couple posted a video on X, formerly Twitter, Monday.

You might have heard G and I were in a car accident yesterday. Thank you all for the well wishes.
