Former child star and Oscar-nominated actor Haley Joel Osment was charged with cocaine possession and public intoxication.
According to Associated Press, Osment had been arrested earlier this month at a Northern California ski resort on April 8 on suspicion of being publicly intoxicated.
Misdemeanor charges were announced in a press release from the Mono County District Attorney’s office on Thursday.
The 37-year-old actor starred in blockbuster movies as a child, including M. Night Shyamalan’s “The Sixth Sense,” and Steve Spielberg’s “A.I.” Osment is due to be arraigned on July 7.
The AP further reported that Osment was one of many who lost their homes during the Los Angeles fires in January, after the fires devastated the Altadena area where Osment’s home was located. Osment was charged with a DUI in 2006 after he crashed his car into a mailbox in L.A. and broke a rib.
In a video of police bodycam footage of Osment’s arrest, it shows the actor hurling expletives at law enforcement officers before being put into the back of a police vehicle and saying he has “been kidnapped by a f***** Nazi.”
