In 2008, Gosder Cherilus was drafted by the Detroit Lions in the NFL draft.
In 2024, the offensive lineman was offensive when he allegedly urinated on a fellow passenger on a flight from Boston to Dublin, Ireland, per Fox News.
Cherilus was on a Delta flight when the incident occurred, per the outlet.
Thr airline said he acted in an “unruly” manner.
The flight returned to Logan Airport in Boston, and he was taken into custody.
Police told Boston 25 News Cherilus was arrested for disorderly conduct.
“Delta flight 154 from Boston to Dublin on Aug. 17 returned to Boston Logan due to an unruly customer and was met by law enforcement,” a Delta spokesperson said. “Delta has zero tolerance for unlawful behavior and will cooperate with law enforcement to that end. We apologize to our customers for the delay in their travel.”
The other passengers boarded another plane to Ireland Sunday night.
Cherilus is scheduled to be arraigned in Boston Monday.
Cherlius played for Boston College and was redshirted in 2013. He was the 17th overall pick in 2008 by the Lions.
He spent his first five seasonsin the NFL in Detroit. He then signed with the Indianapolis Colts He signed a $35 million contract, which made him the highest-paid right tackle at the time.
He then spent his final two years in the NFL with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
He retired in 2017.
