Former President Donald Trump is facing more criticism for his comment about the Constitution.

On Tuesday, Fox Business’ Stuart Varney displayed a graphic of 2022 candidates who were endorsed by Trump and lost.

“Right before today’s election, he was talking about terminating parts of the Constitution,” he said. “That plays right into the Democrats’ hands. He’s trying to walk it back today. But the damage has been done.”

Varney went on to note that if Sen. Raphael Warnock (D-Ga.) wins the run-off election on Tuesday, it would “cement” Democrats’ control of the Senate “making it much easier for them to confirm judges and other top officials.”

“If [Herschel Walker] wins, Trump will take all the credit guaranteed. If Walker loses, Trump will blame Walker for not inviting Trump into the state,” he added.

Over the weekend, Trump wrote on Truth Social, “Do you throw the Presidential Election Results of 2020 OUT and declare the RIGHTFUL WINNER, or do you have a NEW ELECTION? A Massive Fraud of this type and magnitude allows for the termination of all rules, regulations, and articles, even those found in the Constitution.”

He added, “Our great ‘Founders’ did not want, and would not condone, False [and] Fraudulent Elections!”

On Monday, Trump insisted he did not call for parts of the Constitution to be suspended.

“The Fake News is actually trying to convince the American People that I said I wanted to ‘terminate’ the Constitution. This is simply more DISINFORMATION [and] LIES, just like RUSSIA, RUSSIA, RUSSIA, and all of their other HOAXES [and] SCAMS,” he wrote.

The former president added, “What I said was that when there is ’MASSIVE [and] WIDESPREAD FRAUD [and] DECEPTION,’ as has been irrefutably proven in the 2020 Presidential Election, steps must be immediately taken to RIGHT THE WRONG.”

The Wall Street Journal’s editorial board also shredded Trump’s post in an editorial titled, “Donald Trump Is … the Terminator.”

“For years, Mr. Trump’s Twitter feed was the gift that kept on giving—to Democrats. Now his Truth Social account is playing the same role, giving the media a way to turn unfavorable stories back to Mr. Trump’s outburst du jour,” the Journal wrote.

It added, “His presidential campaign is less than a month old. Already Mr. Trump has dined with anti-Semites and a white nationalist, while calling for himself to be reinstated as President, even if this requires the ‘termination’ of whatever in the Constitution stands in the way. What he’ll really terminate is the GOP.”
