Samaritan’s Purse International Disaster Relief is helping those who have been affected by the Russian invasion in Ukraine.

Franklin Graham, the CEO and the president of the organization, told “Fox & Friends,” “The people of Ukraine are suffering.” But along with Samaritan’s Purse, “We’re going to help as much as we can.”

Samaritan’s Purse volunteers are on-site in Ukraine and providing help to those in need, Graham said on Sunday.

They have sent over 660,000 shoebox gifts and also have been making efforts to help children in other areas where the war is not taking place.

Many Ukraine refugees have crossed over to Poland. Graham expressed worry that other countries like Moldova, Romania, and Poland are “not set up to handle this refugee crisis.”

“It’s a continual stream of people,” he said.

The organization is also helping by “preparing a cargo aircraft that will likely deliver materials to hospitals near the Ukrainian border,” Fox News reports.

Graham said that although it will take working together to help the people, “It’s not going to get better. It’s going to get worse.”

Romans 12:12 says, “Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer.” As a missionary and evangelist, Graham is encouraging people to pray for the people of Ukraine.

“I think it’s important that we have a day of prayer for the people who are suffering tremendously. They’re afraid. They’ve been running” he said.

Due to the work that needs to be done, Graham stated that Samaritan’s Purse “will be there for some time.”

According to a statement on the Samaritan’s Purse website, they “specialize in meeting critical needs for victims of conflict, disaster, famine, and epidemics throughout the world, often working through ministry partners on the ground.” They also “provide food, water, shelter, medicine, and other assistance in the Name of Jesus Christ.”
