Republican Arkansas Rep. Steve Womack announced on Tuesday that his wife of 41 years, Terri Womack, had passed away.
Womack said in a statement posted to X that Terri’s “legacy of love will live in the hearts of all who knew her.” His wife was 68 years old, according to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette.
“Sunday afternoon, Heaven welcomed an angel,” Womack wrote in the social media post. “My wife of 41 years, Terri Womack, went to live in eternity with Jesus. My heart is broken and that space remains without her presence. I take comfort in knowing she is no longer suffering in pain and is at peace evermore. Her legacy of love will live in the hearts of all who knew her.”
“Our family appreciates the outpouring of prayers and support. You have all honored her in such a special way, and we are eternally grateful,” Womack’s post continued.
Republican Texas Rep. August Pfluger offered Womack condolences about his wife’s death in a post to X.
“Camille and I are praying for you and your family, Steve,” Pfluger wrote. “Our sincerest condolences for your loss.”
“We are praying for you and your family, Congressman,” the Republican Study Committee wrote Tuesday in an X post. “Our sincerest condolences for your loss.”
