The GOP is dominating early voting in the hotly contested swing state of Wisconsin, according to data analytics firm L2.

Half of the votes cast in the Badger State as of Oct. 29 were submitted by registered Republicans, compared to 32% for Democrats, L2’s early return dashboard shows. The findings come as both parties have made strong pushes for support in Wisconsin, with the Trump and Harris campaigns spending $26 million and $39 million on advertising in the state, respectively, and both candidates visiting eight or more times.

Former President Donald Trump visited Green Bay, Wisconsin, Wednesday, hosting a press conference from inside a garbage truck in reference to Biden calling Trump supporters “garbage” during a Zoom call Tuesday. Trump went on to wear an orange safety vest during that night’s campaign rally and even trotted out legendary Green Bay Packers QB Brett Favre.

Vice President Kamala Harris also held a rally in the swing state last night, bringing with her a variety of famous musicians such as Remi Wolf, Gracie Abrams and Mumford & Sons.

The early voting deficit may not be reflective of the Wisconsin election outcome, with prominent pollster Nate Silver arguing that early voting isn’t a reliable predictor of election results Wednesday, noting that the early vote mispredicted the outcome of the 2016 presidential election by 14 percentage points.

“Imagine if a poll was off by 14 points: no one would ever listen to it again!” Silver wrote. “And yet we get the same frankly amateurish analysis of the early vote in every election.”

The Wisconsin RealClear Polling average shows Harris leading by 0.2% as of Thursday, a difference well within the margin of error. Trump is also currently leading by 0.6% in Pennsylvania but trailing by 0.5% in Michigan, according to RCP’s polling averages.

The Harris and Trump campaigns did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
