If 8-year-old Liam could vote for president, it seems he would consider pulling the lever for Donald Trump.
Liam, who has admired Trump all his life, was able to meet Trump at his rally Wednesday in New York, Fox News reported.
The events for Liam, has a rare brain disorder, to meet Trump, started when the boy received a letter from Trump for his birthday.
His reaction went viral.
“It’s a pipe dream, I can never imagine, to thank the world for helping my son come this far and showing support and making his dream come true, because, believe it or not, this is definitely probably one of his big dreams, to meet Donald Trump, his hero since he was probably born. If not, very close,” Liam’s dad said.
His mother, Siobhan, reported doctors told the family Liam might never walk, talk or eat on his own.
“My buddy here plays ice hockey, he does roller hockey, he does very good in school, plays sports…we’re so proud of him,” she said in an interview before Trump’s rally at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale.
The venue is close to the family’s home in Long Island.
Liam’s mother said he has supported Trump since he was 18 months old.
Liam’s family was then invited to the rally as VIP guests and sat three rows from the stage.
It got better as Liam met Trump.
“I’m supposed to be on that stage, but that doesn’t matter because I got you the best present,” Trump said to Liam in a video of a private meeting before the rally. “This is the best present you’ll ever have.”
Trump then gave Liam a box and said, “in there is real good stuff.”
The two then took a photo together.
“We’re gonna have that picture for life, you and I,” Trump said.
Trump thanked the family for meeting with.
“Take care of yourself, OK?” Trump said. “I wish I looked like that or if I looked like that, I’d be president.”
“Trump 2024!” Liam said to the Republican presidential nominee.
Trump also told the audience at the rally about Liam and his bravery.
The original video captured the moment Liam opened an envelope containing a letter from Trump.
“This is a side of Donald Trump that nobody gets to see,” said Kevin Smith, a media personality in Long Island. Smith uploaded the original photo. “Most Americans only see Trump’s public persona and widespread media coverage,” per Fox News.
The original video shows Liam sitting on a couch as his mom reads the letter.
“Dear Liam, Happy birthday, Mrs. Trump, and I hope you enjoy this special occasion surrounded by the love of your family and friends,” his mom read.
“We are so encouraged by the strength and determination you have shown throughout your life and send our love and best wishes to you as you continue to fight,” the letter stated. “Remember you are never alone, and we are keeping you in our thoughts and prayers for continued care and good health. May God bless you and your family, stay strong.”
His mom then asked about who signed the letter.
“Sincerely, can you tell me who signed that?” Siobhan asked.
“Donald Trump,” Liam said as he held back tears.
“He knew it was your birthday coming up? What do you say to him,” his mom asked.
“Thank you, I love you,” Liam said as he also signed, “I love you.”
