Former President Donald Trump criticized former President Barack Obama in response to the Democrat claiming credit for the state of the Trump administration’s economy.

Obama on Oct. 10 stated that his successor’s economy was “pretty good” due to his administration providing “75 straight months of job growth,” insisting that Trump deserves no credit. Entrepreneur Patrick Bet David, on the “PBD Podcast,” played Trump a clip of Obama claiming credit, prompting Trump to accuse the former president of being “angry” and “nasty.”

WATCH:

“I think he’s angry; he pretends not to be, but I think he’s an angry guy. He’s a nasty guy. He’s got a little bit of an edge, and he’s angry about a lot of things. You look at what happened with [President Joe] Biden, and you look at what he did with Biden. He really hurt Biden,” Trump said, accusing Obama of playing a role in extinguishing Biden’s opportunity to finish his reelection campaign.

Obama also urged black men in October to back Vice President Kamala Harris, asserting he thinks a factor for their hesitation to support her is they “aren’t feeling the idea of having a woman as president.”

“I watched that last week, and I think he spoke down to black men. I thought it was terrible the way he spoke to ’em,” Trump added.

Trump also suggested that Obama is no longer as influential as he once was and took aim at his physical appearance.

“I hadn’t seen him. He’s changed a lot, visually he’s changed. I like to say visually as opposed to from the look standpoint ’cause of course looks don’t matter anymore in politics, you know?” he said. “You say looks don’t matter, doesn’t make any different, right, because we want to be politically correct, but they do matter. But he’s changed. His look has changed actually quite a bit, I haven’t seen him in a long time.”

Before the COVID-19 pandemic, the economy under Trump experienced a surge in median household incomes as well as an all-time low poverty rate and unemployment rates at a 50-year low, according to a Trump White House press release. Nearly 55% of voters think Trump would manage the economy “better” than Harris, according to a September New York Times/Siena College poll.
