Shockwaves continue to ripple through the Duggar family following the arrest of Joseph Duggar, as siblings respond in sharply different ways to the allegations.

According to Page Six, Joy-Anna Duggar did not hold back in addressing the situation publicly.

The 28-year-old influencer shared an emotional message on Instagram, describing the accusations against her brother as “heartbreaking and deeply disturbing.”

“My heart is with the victim, and I am grieved by the pain and harm caused,” Joy-Anna continued. “I have been a wreck this week and am taking time to process.”

Her statement reflected the weight of the moment, as she explained she would be stepping back from social media to focus on her family. She noted, however, that she still had “a few pre-filmed commitments” that would be posted.

“Thank you for your prayers,” she concluded.

While Joy-Anna addressed the controversy directly, her brother Jeremiah Duggar took a very different approach. The 27-year-old returned to Instagram the same day with a celebratory post marking his fourth wedding anniversary with his wife, Hannah.

“It’s officially been four years since we tied the knot,” he wrote in a lengthy caption. “My love for you is deeper now than ever before.”

“You are the most incredible wife, and I am so grateful our girls can look up to you as the ultimate role model in their life,” he added. “Happy four year anniversary Hannah!”

Jeremiah limited comments on the post, notably avoiding any mention of the unfolding scandal.

Should the Duggar family publicly address Joseph's arrest?

Joseph Duggar was arrested on March 18 and booked into the Washington County jail in Arkansas. Authorities allege he confessed to “several incidents of sexual abuse” during a phone call with the alleged victim’s father the day before his arrest.

Because the alleged incidents occurred during a 2020 trip to Florida, he is expected to be extradited to Bay County.

His wife, Kendra Caldwell, was arrested days later on March 20. She faces four counts of second-degree endangering the welfare of a minor and four counts of second-degree false imprisonment after investigators conducting a home study reportedly found suspicious locks.

Joseph faces those same charges, in addition to allegations of lewd and lascivious behavior involving a victim younger than 12 and similar conduct by a person 18 or older.

The couple shares four children: son Garrett, 7, daughters Addison, 6, and Brooklyn Praise, 5, along with a fourth child whose name has not been publicly revealed.

Details from a forensic interview with the alleged victim, now 14, have also emerged.

According to an affidavit obtained by Page Six, the teen said Joseph’s hand “grazed [her] vagina … outside of her underwear” while he covered them with a blanket and touched her thighs.

She also alleged that he repeatedly asked her to sit on his lap and later apologized.

Reactions within the Duggar family have varied. While several relatives have condemned Joseph, his brother Josh Duggar — currently serving time for receiving and possessing child sexual abuse material — defended him and criticized what he called “false accusations.”
