House Republicans are recommending criminal charges for President Joe Biden’s brother and son, James and Hunter Biden.

On Wednesday, House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) posted on X that Republicans are “sending criminal referrals to DOJ today recommending Hunter and James Biden be charged with perjury and making false statements to Congress about key aspects of the impeachment inquiry of President Joe Biden.”

In a letter to Attorney General Merrick Garland and Special Counsel David Weiss, House Republicans noted they are investigating allegations of Joe Biden’s “role in and knowledge of his family’s international influence peddling schemes that have generated over $18 million for the Biden family members,” and whether “sufficient grounds exist to draft articles of impeachment” against the president.

House Republicans note they interviewed James and Hunter Biden as part of their investigation and allege the two “made provably false statements to the Oversight Committee and the Judiciary Committee about key aspects of their impeachment inquiry, in what appears to be a conscious effort to hinder the investigation’s focus on Joe Biden.”

Republicans claim Hunter Biden lied about “threatening text messages he sent to his Chinese business partner,” when he claimed he “had transmitted this threat to an unrelated individual with the same surname,”

“Documents released by the Committee on Ways and Means demonstrate conclusively that Hunter Biden made this threat to the intended individual, and bank records prove Hunter Biden’s Chinese business partners wired millions of dollars to him after this threat,” the letter asserted.

It also claimed, “A portion of the proceeds has been traced to Joe Biden’s bank account.”

Related to James Biden, the letter alleges he lied when he insisted he “did not attending a meeting with Joe Biden, Hunter Biden, and Tony Bobulinski.”

Republicans claimed, “The nature of these false statements is not lost on the Committees: every instance implicates Joe Biden’s knowledge of and role in his family’s influence peddling.”
