'It's Germany 1933′: Joe Scarborough Criticizes DeSantis' Reaction to Trump's Indictment

MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough is blasting Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ (R) reaction to the first-ever indictment of a former president.

During a segment of “Morning Joe” Friday, Scarborough discussed a tweet sent by the Florida governor vowing not to assist in an extradition of former President Donald Trump after his indictment.

“Ron DeSantis embarrassed himself by saying he was going to fight extradition charges,” the MSNBC host said, adding, “One more Republican that really just doesn’t give a damn about the Constitution of the United States.”

He also focused on a line that labeled Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg a “Soros-backed” prosecutor.

“It’s just Jews. They’re attacking Jewish international bankers,” Scarborough claimed.

He went on, “It’s what anti-Semites have been doing for hundreds of years, attacking Jewish international bankers. And that’s what they do, they try to blame everything on Jewish international bankers.”

“It’s Germany 1933,” he added.

Do you think Scarborough's assessment is correct?

In a tweet after news of Trump’s indictment, DeSantis wrote, “The weaponization of the legal system to advance a political agenda turns the rule of law on its head. It is un-American.”

“The Soros-backed Manhattan District Attorney has consistently bent the law to downgrade felonies and to excuse criminal misconduct. Yet, now he is stretching the law to target a political opponent,” he continued.

He added, “Florida will not assist in an extradition request given the questionable circumstances at issue with this Soros-backed Manhattan prosecutor and his political agenda.”

George Soros, who is Jewish, is a billionaire philanthropist who has made political donations to Democratic candidates in the U.S.

According to The New York Times, “The connections between [Soros] and Alvin Bragg, the Manhattan district attorney, are real but overstated.”

It explained Soros donated to a liberal organization, Color of Change, that supports progressive prosecutors.

The political arm of Color of Change endorsed Bragg in 2021 and spent nearly $500,000 on efforts to help his campaign.
