Actor Jamie Foxx is recuperating after a recent health scare.
In a statement posted by Foxx’s family on his daughter Corrine’s Instagram page, it was revealed he “experienced a medical complication” on Tuesday.
“Luckily, due to quick action and great care, he is already on his way to recovery. We know how beloved he is and appreciate your prayers,” the statement continued. “The family asks for privacy during this time.”
Further details on what caused Foxx to be rushed to the hospital have yet to be disclosed.
According to People, the Oscar winner was recently spotted on set for the upcoming Netflix movie “Back in Action” featuring actress Cameron Diaz.
In July 2022, a source revealed to People Foxx played a significant role in Diaz coming out of retirement.
“When this project came along and she was pursued by Jamie Foxx, who she has known and worked with for years, she decided to go for it,” the source shared.
In an interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2005, Foxx spoke about “the most surprising part” of his success.
“Winning the Oscar. Everybody was crying. Speedy, a friend I’ve known since I was Eric Bishop, and all the other guys couldn’t hold back,” he said.
Continuing, he said, “Because it’s like this: Halle and Denzel are supposed to win the Oscars. Speedy and I were always just a couple of Wet Willies [pranksters] with cops harassing us. You know how our folks are: When one of us wins, we all just want to celebrate.”
He also revealed how he felt that night, saying, “I wanted to be able to look back 20 years later and feel proud of what I said and did. I wasn’t nervous but anxious.”
Foxx won Best Actor for his portrayal of singer Ray Charles in the movie “Ray” at the 77th Academy Awards show.
