“Friends” actress Jennifer Aniston revealed how late co-star Matthew Perry was doing the day he died.
In an interview with Variety, Aniston, 54, said she wasn’t aware anything was wrong after talking with him that morning, revealing he was “happy” and “healthy.”
“He had quit smoking. He was getting in shape. He was happy — that’s all I know,” she shared.
She continued, “I was literally texting with him that morning, funny Matty. He was not in pain. He wasn’t struggling.”
Aniston further emphasized that Perry was “happy.”

Aniston’s “The Morning Show” co-star Reese Witherspoon chimed in and said she believes, “It’s important people know that.”
“It is,” Aniston responded, “I want people to know he was really healthy, and getting healthy. He was on a pursuit.”
“He worked so hard,” she added.
The Golden Globe award winner continued:
“He really was dealt a tough one. I miss him dearly. We all do. Boy, he made us laugh really hard.”
Perry was found dead in his jacuzzi on Oct. 28 following an apparent drowning at his Los Angeles home, TMZ reported. He was 54 years old.
On Nov. 15, Aniston posted a touching tribute to him on her Instagram page.
“Having to say goodbye to our Matty has been an insane wave of emotions that I’ve never experienced before. We all experience loss at some point in our lives. Loss of life or loss of love,” she wrote in the caption of memories she shared of the two.
She added, “Being able to really SIT in this grief allows you to feel the moments of joy and gratitude for having loved someone that deeply.”
Aniston also said the “Friends” cast “loved him deeply” and “He was such a part of our DNA.”
“We were always the 6 of us. This was a chosen family that forever changed the course of who we were and what our path was going to be,” she shared.
“Friends” aired on NBC from 1994-2004.
