As political watchers reviews Thursday’s presidential debate as a loss for President Joe Biden, some think another Biden fared worse.
That is First Lady Jill Biden.
Many took to X, formerly Twitter, to express their frustration over Jill Biden’s treatment of her husband, likening it to how someone would handle a child.
“Jill Biden is certifiably terrifying”
“All while Joe sits and waits for his juicebox,” swimmer Riley Gaines wrote.
An account labeled Lucy wrote about Jill Biden’s words after the debate.
“Stunning moment Jill Biden congratulates husband Joe like a child’ after CNN Trump debate.”
“‘Joe, you did such a great job answering every question. You knew all the facts,’” she wrote, quoting the First Lady.
“Mama Jill gave Joey an extra scoop of ice cream as a reward.”
Another placed the blame on the evening with Jill Biden.
“Jill Biden is to blame,” social commentator Eric Matheny wrote.
A “loving wife would never put her mentally finished husband through this,” he said.
“Instead she is like a grade school stage mother watching her child perform; spine rigid, jaw clenched, tensely mouthing the lines from the audience.”
Peter Henlein, a self-professed “political junkie,” wrote of Jill Biden treating her husband as a toddler.
“Probably not a good idea to have Jill Biden talk to Biden like he’s a toddler on national television after the performance he just had,” he wrote.
“‘You did such a great job! You answered every question!!’”
“He is the president, not a kid who turned in his homework.”
Meghan McCain, a political blogger, put it very simply.
“Jill Biden will not be remembered kindly in American history,” she wrote.
