Comedians Joe Rogan and Shane Gillis criticized President Donald Trump on “The Joe Rogan Experience” on Thursday for installing plaques at the White House that insult former presidents.
The plaques appear beneath portraits of each president on Trump’s “Presidential Walk of Fame,” written in the president’s style, including attacks on former Presidents Joe Biden and Barack Obama. Gillis said on the podcast that the move lent credibility to critics who claim Trump governs as a “dictator,” particularly likening it to “an African dictatorship.”

“Somebody needs to tell him like, ‘Hey, this is not good. You can’t do that because then other people could do that, too. And then the White House stops being the White House and it becomes whoever is in its house, where he could just go crazy and say everybody else is a crook,’” Rogan said.
Gillis responded that he did not believe any future presidents would replicate Trump’s actions.
“God, I hope not, but the problem is it opens up the door for someone on the left to do their version of it,” Rogan replied.
Trump also previously installed a photo of an autopen instead of a portrait of Biden that now hangs above his plaque, which calls him “Sleepy Joe Biden” and “the worst President in American History,” according to NBC News. It also notes the former president’s “severe mental decline” and accuses him of presiding over “a series of unprecedented disasters that brought our Nation to the brink of destruction.”
The plaque beneath Obama’s portrait uses his full name, including “Hussein,” and describes him as “one of the most divisive figures in American history,” as well as highlighting what Trump views to be his failures and misdeeds, according to NBC News.
Moreover, each of Trump’s two plaques heaps praise on the 45th and 47th president, according to the outlet.
Trump’s autopen portrait of Biden led journalist Katie Couric to admit on “Next Question with Katie Couric” in November that she no longer attempted to “be impartial” when covering the president, calling his conduct “so beyond the pale.”
