A judge has denied Hunter Biden’s request to delay his trial involving a gun purchase.

The federal gun case against Hunter Biden, son of President Joe Biden, will go to trial next month, per the Associated Press.

U.S. District Judge Maryellen Noreika ruled Tuesday that the trial will not be delayed. Hunter Biden’s attorneys said the delay was necessary because they needed time to get witnesses and go through the evidence given to them by the prosecution.

Hunter Biden is accused of lying about his drug use on a form in order to buy a gun.

Hunter Biden has pleaded not guilty.

He’s admitted to being addicted to crack cocaine at that time in October 2018, but his lawyers say he didn’t break the law.

His attorneys have said it’s political pressure by Republicans have caused the indictment.

However, the judge rejected that claim.

This is just one of Hunter Biden’s legal woes.

Hunter Biden faces three gun firearms charges in Delaware as well as tax charges in California.

In the Delaware case, he is charged with two counts of making false statements. The first count is for checking a box falsely saying he was not addicted to drugs. The second count was for giving the form to the shop for its federally required records.

A third count alleges he owned the gun for about 11 days even though he knew he used drugs.

In California, where he resides, Hunter Biden is charged with three felonies and six misdemeanors.

Prosecutors say he did not pay over at least $1.4 million in taxes between 2016 and 2019. They have accused him of living an “extravagant lifestyle” instead of paying taxes. The back taxes have been paid.
