White House Press Secretary Kayleigh McEnany delivered a message to the American people on Wednesday announcing the Capitol Hill Organized Protest zone, also known as CHOP, has been dismantled in Seattle.

McEnany took to the podium during a White House press briefing to reveal law and order has been restored.

“I’m pleased to inform everyone that Seattle has been liberated,” McEnany said.

McEnany called the CHOP zone “a failed four-week Democrat experiment by the radical left.”

She argued CHOP is anti-American and peace will be restored.

“Anarchy is anti-American, law and order is essential, peace in our streets will be secured,” McEnany said.

The protest zone was established following the death of George Floyd and in response to racial injustice.

Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan (D) previously announced plans to dismantle the zone, as IJR previously reported.

Durkan expressed concern about the “increasingly difficult circumstances” Seattle residents and businesses are faced with amid the gatherings and protests.

She spoke to the issue during a press conference on June 22.

“It’s time for people to go home. It is time for us to restore Cal Anderson and Capitol Hill so it can be a vibrant part of the community,” Durkan said.

She added, “We can still accommodate people who want to protest peacefully, come there and gather. But the impacts on the businesses and residents and community are now too much.”

McEnany mentioned Durkan and her claim CHAZ, the Capitol Hill Autonomous Zone, was going to be “the summer of love.”

“President Trump has always stood on the side of law and order and we are pleased to report that law and order has prevailed and Seattle has been liberated from the anarchist,” McEnany said.

She added, “In President Trump’s America, autonomous zones will have no sanctuary.”
